Governor Greg Abbott, has ordered beginning March 22, 2020 and continuing until 11:59 p.m. on April 21, 2020, all licensed health care professionals and all licensed health care facilities shall postpone all surgeries and procedures that are not immediately medically necessary to correct a serious medical condition of, or to preserve the life of, a patient who without immediate performance of the surgery or procedure would be at risk for serious adverse medical consequences or death, as determined by the patient’s physician.
In an effort to support national efforts to fight the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kingwood Oral Surgery (Dr. Gary McDonald) is taking the following steps to help assure your health and well-being and that of our community:
- We are following directives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA) to limit patient and staff exposure to this virus.
- Patients will be seen only for urgent and emergency dental needs.
The safety and well-being of our patients continues to be our primary concern. We will continue to monitor the status of Coronavirus (COVID-19) nationally and within our community and keep you up-to-date regarding our plans to reopen for business as usual.

Once we return to normal scheduling – KOS is open by appointment Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm, excluding most holidays. We will schedule your appointment as promptly as possible.
We know your time is important and make every attempt to stay on schedule to minimize your waiting. However, we kindly ask you understand KOS provides surgical services and various circumstances may lengthen the time allocated for a scheduled procedure. Also, emergencies (like bicycle accidents, sport accidents, auto accidents) arise and can cause delays. We greatly appreciate your understanding and patience.
We value the time we have set aside for your appointment. If you are not able to keep an appointment, we would appreciate 24-hour advance notice. If you are late for your appointment (more than 15 minutes), we will do our very best to accommodate you, however, it may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
